The role of Automated Systems Engineer involves the deployment, improvement and support of automated systems and processes. This encompasses electronic and computer control systems, such as robots and NC machine tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Timely resolution of production issues that arise with existing production equipment and processes. Guiding and directing resources required to keep equipment and processes at an operational level. Identifying and implementing corrective actions
- Developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve process cycle, quality and availability for complex production machines
- Project management within the implementation of new automated production equipment as required and leading continues improvement for the assets through life cycle
- Participating in formal systems design, product, process and certification reviews
- Contributing to the manufacturing strategy and development of automation
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechatronic/Robotic Engineering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and practices
- Unrestricted working rights
Desirable skills and experience include:
- Software development and CAD/CAM experience
- Strong mechanical 'hands on' background
- Experience in the design and support of automated production environments
- Experience with robotic systems, machine tools and industrial systems
