Coal Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Coal Technician to fill a full-time or casual position.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your skills in a supportive environment while contributing to high-quality laboratory results.

As a Coal Technician, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate sampling, preparation, and analysis of coal samples for both internal and external clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
  2. Ensuring accuracy, precision, and traceability of prepared samples.
  3. Assisting with calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
  4. Following routine and non-routine sampling instructions.
  5. Opportunity to obtain a nationally recognized qualification if desired.

Requirements

To succeed as a Coal Technician, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, physically active industrial setting.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable with a strong customer focus.
  • Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be beneficial.
  • Some computer skills, especially Excel, would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work shifts and meet tight deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
