Senior Mechanical Team Leader

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Team Leader to oversee the maintenance and performance of our diverse fleet, including light vehicles and heavy plant equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professionals and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced mechanical environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a strong technical background, and the ability to motivate and support their team members to achieve exceptional performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanical team.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance on servicing and maintaining a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate the procurement of vehicle parts and manage workshop inventory effectively.
  • Monitor and review work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the workshop by promoting safety awareness, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills / Qualifications & Experience:

  • Cert III in Automotive Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a mechanical or fleet environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Solid experience in fleet maintenance, component rebuilds, or heavy equipment repairs.
  • A proven track record in leading teams and achieving performance goals.
  • A good understanding of Work Health & Safety practices and procedures.
  • HR Driver's Licence, First Aid + CPR, National Police Clearance.
