Procurement and Governance Manager



Job Description:

Westpac is seeking an experienced Procurement and Governance Manager to oversee the procurement, governance, and project delivery of our Mortgages Line of Business. This pivotal role involves optimising processes, driving automation and efficiency in mortgage operations, and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day interactions with partners, leading negotiations, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring all engagements are underpinned by a robust compliance framework. Key responsibilities include mitigating risk, influencing strategy, and ensuring seamless integration between internal teams and external providers to support sustainable growth, enhance customer outcomes, and contribute to overall profitability.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills to manage high-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in data analysis, general insurance, or product management to drive business improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of consumer lending policies for compliance and risk management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in risk modelling and policy development.
  • Knowledge of pricing and regulatory capital requirements within the banking sector.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to effectively engage stakeholders.
