Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist plays a pivotal role in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based solutions. This involves maintaining and enhancing the security posture of systems, ensuring continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with System Engineers, Developers, Architects, and DevOps engineers to design and implement automated solutions using CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment, and configuration.
  • Leverage expertise in AWS resource technologies to develop and deploy hybrid and no-hybrid enterprise solutions.
  • Utilize Kubernetes, preferably running across cloud platforms and on-premise, to ensure seamless operation.
  • Design and implement robust RESTful APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, and authentication.
  • Contribute to automation/configuration management using Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
  • Maintain code and scripting version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around 'infrastructure as code'. GitHub and Azure DevOps are used for this purpose.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with the build, deployment, and continuous integration process.
  • Develop automated solutions and integrations using scripting languages such as Python, Terraform, and AWS Cloud formation.
  • Engage in problem-solving, from epic to mundane tasks, to ensure efficient issue resolution.
  • Reduce complexity wherever possible by automating handling processes.
  • Design and document cloud architecture solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Compose root cause analysis reports to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure security is integrated into all architecture solutions to meet compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with IaaS and SaaS solutions design, development, and deployment in an AWS environment.
  • Experience with multi-petabyte storage implementations using open-source storage technologies.
  • CI/CD experience is a plus.
  • Dev-Ops experience is a plus.
  • GCP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including active listening, problem-solving under pressure, and facilitation.
