Job Title: Vocational Specialist

About The Role

As a Vocational Specialist, you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years to provide individual placement and support (IPS) vocational services. This involves career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to help them achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide IPS vocational services to young people with mental health difficulties in headspace Townsville.
  • Work with the headspace clinical team to ensure young people can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.
Requirements
  • Tertiary level education in a relevant human services discipline, i.e. social work, psychology etc.
  • Knowledge, experience, understanding and passion for the health and wellbeing of young people in gaining employment.
  • Sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience vocational planning and employment lead creation.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders.
  • Well-developed computer, technology and administration skills.
  • Eligibility to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
  • Current driver's license.
