Role Overview


As the Head Teacher for Secondary Studies, you will be responsible for leading a diverse secondary faculty team and supporting teachers in the delivery of new syllabus documents through evidence-informed, differentiated teaching, learning, and assessment practice.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement effective instructional leadership strategies to foster a culture of collaboration and delivery innovation that positively impacts student wellbeing, engagement, transition, and successful learning outcomes.
  • Analyse data and lead, implement, and support whole school and NSW Department of Education priorities and initiatives for maximum impact.
  • Build inclusive and trusting partnerships with students, families, staff, the local AECG, external agencies, and the wider community.
  • Manage and professionally develop a diverse secondary faculty team, ensuring effective supervision and mentoring to support teacher growth and development.
  • Develop and implement quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with school executive, staff, students, and parents to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.

Requirements



  • Unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education.
  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
  • Strong educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build productive, inclusive, and trusting partnerships with students, families, staff, and the wider community.
