Petroleum Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Interpreting geological formation data to determine extraction risks and optimize extraction methods.
  • Conducting surveys, testing, and analysis to evaluate new reservoirs and create low-cost drilling plans.
  • Designing computer-simulated models for drilling formation and equipment, ensuring optimal tool and equipment selection.
  • Determining efficient drilling routes through internal divisions for a free-flowing single well.
  • Optimizing shale bed fracturing techniques to release gas or oil.
  • Overseeing ongoing production operations, ensuring efficient extraction and drilling while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintaining on-site drilling and pumping equipment.
  • Developing and refining methods to extract more petroleum from existing wells.
  • Managing the removal of equipment, sealing the reservoir, and disposing of waste materials when the reservoir is exhausted.
