Your Role

In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you'll lead and manage research and development projects within our laboratory. This role demands hands-on experience with design, integration, and operation of atomic quantum sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to physicists and engineers.
  • Design and prototype optical, mechanical, and electronics subsystems.
  • Optimize and ruggedize atomic sensors for practical applications.
  • Integrate, optimize, and deploy atomic sensors in real-world settings.

Qualifications

  • PhD in atomic, molecular, or quantum physics.
  • Familiarity with laser spectroscopy, laser cooling, and atom interferometry of atomic species.
  • Programming aptitude and automation skills; Python proficiency preferred for lab instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis.
  • Expertise in ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • Narrow linewidth lasers and frequency stabilization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Australian government security clearance level acquisition within a reasonable timeframe is preferred.
