The Fixed Plant maintenance team at St Ives is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Western Australia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to provide quality and timely preventative mechanical maintenance and repairs of the Fixed Plant Infrastructure, Facilities and other areas of the operation. Reporting to the Fixed Plant Leading Hand at St Ives, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repair of plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on plant equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation of production facilities;
  • Perform routine servicing and adjustments on plant equipment to maintain optimal performance;
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment as required to minimize downtime and losses due to production delays;
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including labor time, requisitioning of parts and materials, and processing of maintenance orders;
  • Work closely with the Fixed Plant Leading Hand and other team members to achieve operational objectives;
  • Provide training and guidance to apprentices as required;

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering);
  • Valid WA C Class Drivers Licence;
  • Solid experience in mechanical maintenance of Fixed Plant Infrastructure in an underground mine;
  • Knowledge of Paste Plant technologies and associated equipment;
  • Dogging, EWP, and Forklift Tickets are highly desirable;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
