We are seeking a driven and forward-thinking Data Governance Lead to establish and scale a fit-for-purpose data governance function from the ground up.

About the Role:
  • Design and implement a company-wide data governance framework aligned with strategic goals and regulatory obligations, ensuring seamless data management across the organization.
  • Establish roles, responsibilities, and ownership models across data domains (e.g. data stewards, custodians, owners), fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
  • Develop and embed policies, standards, and data controls, including for quality, classification, access, and lifecycle management, ensuring robust data protection and compliance.
  • Collaborate with teams across IT, risk, finance, and business units to promote data-driven decision making and literacy, driving business success through data-informed strategies.
  • Work with technology partners to implement or optimize governance tooling (e.g. data catalogues, lineage, metadata management), enhancing data visibility and control.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and maturity levels, providing regular insights to senior leadership on data governance effectiveness.
  • Act as the key governance lead on initiatives relating to privacy, compliance, AI readiness, and data quality, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
