Job SummaryWe're seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our payroll team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the effective administration of payroll services across our retail brands.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the processing of the fortnightly payroll for store staff, including calculation, coding, and entering into the payroll system.
- Ensure that time sheets are processed in a reliable, timely, and efficient manner, ensuring correct remuneration on the due date and in compliance with relevant industrial instruments.
- Input details of new staff members into MicrOpay, including the processing of taxation, banking, and superannuation details.
- Support the reviewing and preparation of termination calculations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and legislation.
- Upgrade pay classifications for employees when increases take place according to the Award.
- Respond in a timely manner to payroll queries from store teams or management.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a payroll position, preferably in the retail industry.
- Sound knowledge of MicrOpay or similar payroll system (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of Humanforce (Timetarget) Time and Attendance System preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of awards and award classifications; Modern Retail Award, preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in all MS Office Programs, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- An understanding of the payroll cycle and processes.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills.
- Comfortable working onsite in our St Kilda Rd Offices, 5 days per week.
