Eyewear Specialist

Assists customers in ordering eyeglasses and lenses. Adjusts and dispenses eyeglasses and contacts. Determines bifocal and multifocal placement. Processes orders. Oversees non-licensed apprentices. Cleans department area. Assists customers while providing prompt and courteous customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with choosing eyeglasses frames and lens options appropriate to prescription
• Fit and adjust lenses to eyeglass frames
• Dispense eyeglasses and contacts
• Measure customer's eyes for pupillary distance and determine bifocal placement
• Answer questions and addresses problems regarding prescriptions
• Place special orders to outside suppliers
• Stock department equipment, merchandise and supplies
• Follows department procedures and standards for production, record keeping, merchandising and merchandise storage
• Cleans department and ensure the register's cleanliness
• Take optical measurements and educate customers on best products to meet visual aids

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Certificate IV Optical Dispensing or equivalent experience
• Good communication, basic math and member service skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
