About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Services Coordinator to join our team in Perth, supporting our Fleet Management team at Melbourne Airport. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical trade-qualified professional with proven diagnostic skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our large fleet of specialised trucks is well maintained to a roadworthy standard. This includes inspecting and test-driving vehicles to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshooting fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, and repairing or replacing defective parts. The role also involves coordinating services and repairs performed by contractors, managing spare parts, and updating the vehicle maintenance system.

You will work closely with our operations team to minimize downtime of our fleet and provide regular reporting of mechanical diagnosis and updates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect and test drive vehicles to ensure they are working safely and properly, identify and repair or replace defective parts, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshooting: Use electronic diagnostics to troubleshoot fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, and make necessary repairs.
  • Coordinating Services: Coordinate services and repairs performed by contractors, manage spare parts, and update the vehicle maintenance system.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support after hours to attend to or provide support for breakdowns.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role, preferably in diesel vehicles.
  • Mechanical trade qualifications.
  • Heavy rigid license or ability to obtain one.
  • Proven diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical and PLC systems is essential.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as computer proficiency (MS Excel and Word).
  • Able to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
