Job Title: Environmental Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Advisor to provide expert advice on environmental approvals, specifications, and contractor obligations. This role involves conducting site inspections, audits, and monitoring to assess and improve environmental performance.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval frameworks. They will also possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Management: Conduct site inspections, audits, and monitoring to assess and improve environmental performance.
  • Compliance: Act as the site-based environmental representative, ensuring compliance with approvals and regulations.
  • Contractor Oversight: Review and oversee contractor environmental management plans and implementation.
  • Reporting: Report on incidents, risks, compliance, and contractor performance to project leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and positive engagement.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert advice on environmental approvals, specifications, and contractor obligations.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in site-based environmental advisory roles within infrastructure or renewables.
  • Strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval frameworks.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply approval conditions and deliver practical, risk-based advice.
  • Experience managing complex environmental issues and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
  • Experience with environmental incident response and compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Qualifications or significant experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • A current driver's licence.
