Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the profitable operation of the school canteen, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and WHS legislation. They will work closely with teachers, staff, and parents to provide excellent customer service, promote healthy eating habits, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the canteen, including menu planning, food preparation, and serving
  • Supervise and train staff as needed, maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance the overall canteen experience
  • Monitor and control expenses, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including food safety and handling requirements
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in food service management, preferably in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and handling practices, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, with a focus on promoting a positive and respectful work environment
  • Basic Food Handling Certificate and current Working with Children Check required
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will also receive a range of benefits, including access to training and professional development opportunities, paid parental leave, and a comprehensive employee assistance program.
