The Role

In this role, your responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of essential signalling systems necessary for ensuring the safety and efficiency of train operations. For suitable candidates, there is potential for this position to evolve into a leadership role within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation: Setting up new signalling systems or upgrading existing ones according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, testing, and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper functioning of signalling equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing faults or malfunctions in signalling equipment and implementing appropriate repairs or adjustments to restore functionality.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Conducting thorough testing of signalling systems to ensure reliability and adherence to safety regulations before putting them into service. This includes commissioning new installations and verifying their performance.
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and testing results to track the history and performance of signalling equipment.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other railway personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and operators, to coordinate signalling activities and ensure the safe and efficient movement of trains.
