Trainee Dental Assistant Role Overview

This comprehensive traineeship program provides an excellent opportunity to start a career in dental healthcare. Our trainees work closely with dentists, hygienists and experienced dental assistants to develop valuable industry insights.

The 12-month program includes hands-on training, paid learning, skill development and classroom sessions to expand theoretical knowledge of dental healthcare.

Our trainees are responsible for instrument sterilization, maintaining a clean and healthy clinical environment, preparing rooms for treatment, patient care management and entering patient details into records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instrument sterilization and maintenance
  • Clinical environment preparation and maintenance
  • Patient care management including greeting and meeting patients, making follow-up appointments and recording patient information

Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Highly developed time management, attention to detail and prioritization skills
  • A desire to learn and passion in the healthcare industry
  • Ability to work in a structured and team environment
  • Ability to complete the requirements of Cert III in Dental Assisting
