Plant Maintenance Lead

As a key member of the maintenance team at RPR Trades, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to oversee the plant's operational upkeep within the meat processing sector. Your role will involve managing work requests, controlling expenses, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance services. You will lead and support your team to guarantee that all tasks are executed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency call-outs and assist with equipment failures to sustain plant operations during production hours.
  • Manage the maintenance program, including preventive measures, corrective actions, and breakdown responses.
  • Analyze recurring maintenance challenges and communicate findings to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure prompt responses to maintenance requests, effectively allocating resources as necessary.
  • Evaluate existing work methods and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Source suppliers, negotiate costs, and order essential components.
  • Reduce production interruptions by efficiently scheduling maintenance tasks and activities.
  • Supervise contractors in alignment with the contractor management framework.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a relevant Trade Certificate.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a comparable role.
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems, preferably SAP.
  • A strong commitment to quality and ongoing improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to think quickly and logically, even under pressure.
  • Confidence in communicating effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
