About the Role
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Court Security Specialists in the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community while developing your skills and knowledge in correctional practice.
Job Summary: As a Court Security Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising inmates in court settings, de-escalating conflict situations, and undertaking security checks and searches. You will also work collaboratively with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of the court complex.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for candidates who are committed to living the DCJ values of Service, Trust, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A Certificate III in Correctional Practice is highly desirable.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this role, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver's license with no restrictions, and be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. You should also be willing to work irregular shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
Note: This role is not based in a correctional centre, and you will be required to work under a full-time temporary contract for the first 9 weeks to complete the primary training program.
