CNC Machine Shop Foreman

Leading a highly skilled CNC machine shop requires a strong production manager who can effectively plan daily operations, source tooling and consumables, and collaborate with staff, customers, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in toolmaking or general CNC machining, proficiency in programming, setup, and operation of CNC machines, and knowledge of quality control procedures. They must also possess excellent communication skills, ability to instruct and supervise staff, and hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and Solidworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Production planning and execution of jobs including machining, welding, fabrication, and industrial gearbox spare part manufacture
  • Tooling and consumable procurement
  • Interpreting technical and engineering drawings to facilitate collaboration with staff and customers
  • Collaboration with management and staff at all levels
  • Assisting machinists with programming using CAD/CAM software
  • Quality assurance of manufactured parts/components before despatch
