We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Distribution Network Strategy & Planning team in Southbank. As a Senior Engineer Network Planning, you will play a crucial role in planning the electricity network that serves 802,000 customers across eastern and north-eastern Victoria, as well as Melbourne's northern and eastern suburbs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead comprehensive planning processes to assess network capabilities, identify areas of limitation, and develop network solution and contingency plans.
- Simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers and develop procedures for control room.
- Understand current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation to avoid/defer network investment.
- Advanced commercial acumen, external stakeholder engagement, and understanding of regulatory models and new technologies to identify the appropriate solution(s) to address the needs of the network and customers.
- Relevant qualification and experience in Engineering.
- Experience in contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and overarching markets.
- Proficiency in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software and interpreting results.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception to implementation and realisation of program objectives.
- Sound knowledge of National Electricity Rules, the energy markets, and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licences, and agreements.
- Flexibility in work arrangements, including hybrid work and flexible hours.
