About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Embalmer to join our team at InvoCare. As an Embalmer, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to families during a difficult time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and embalm deceased individuals for interment or cremation, adhering to legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize embalming instruments and machinery safely and effectively, following company guidelines.
  • Ensure sound mortuary practices, emphasizing hygiene and lifting standards.
  • Operate transfer vehicles, hearses, and other vehicles as required.
  • Conduct general maintenance of the facility, monitoring stock levels.
  • Maintain acceptable Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • File burial permits and complete necessary paperwork related to the death process.
About You
  • Ability to empathize with bereaved families and provide compassionate care.
  • Mortuary skills acquired through in-house training.
  • Sensitivity to and ability to comply with religious and secular requirements.
  • Manual handling and lifting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical and mental health to perform manual handling and manage stress.
  • Comfortable working with grieving families and the deceased.
  • Full, unrestricted driver's license.
