Portfolio Office Lead Role

The Portfolio Office Lead is a key role in driving excellence across our portfolio and project management practices. The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to provide insightful analysis and reporting.

This is a full-time or part-time (4 days per week) permanent role based at the Knox Civic Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

Remuneration will be a Band 7 classification with a salary range (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality analysis and reporting on portfolio and project health and progress, including financial management and benefits realisation, to governance bodies and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Program Leads and Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely portfolio and project level reporting.
  • Report to the Head of Portfolio and Enterprise Change and have line management responsibility for one Portfolio Analyst.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven track record of running a Portfolio Management Office or delivering programs on time and on budget using disciplined planning and mastery of project management techniques and processes.
  • Critical skills including program and project health reporting, decision making, influencing and a high level of financial acumen.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think laterally, courageously and creatively when developing solutions.
  • Developed written and verbal communication aptitude is essential.
  • Strong collaboration and relational skills with a proven track record of developing staff capabilities with a demonstrated commitment to respect for the individual and integrity in relationships and communications.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing analysis and hypothesis-driven problem-solving.
