Technical Support Specialist

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal performance, stability, and security of our systems.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining network and server systems, identifying and resolving issues related to hardware components and software applications, and providing technical support to our organisation.

You will also have the opportunity to implement robust solutions and contribute to the culture of the organization by working closely with our security team to ensure systems consistently meet security frameworks and business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining network and server systems to ensure high availability and performance
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to network infrastructure, hardware components, and software applications
  • Providing technical support to IT team members and acting as an escalation point for service desk requests
  • Implementing robust solutions and contributing to the culture of the organization

Requirements:

  • Industry experience in a technical support or administrator role (~2 years)
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and Server environments (macOS desirable)
  • Experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery systems
  • Well-rounded knowledge of Microsoft networking fundamentals (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, Routing) and security best practices
  • Management skills of networking infrastructure; switches, routers, WAPs
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and management
  • Working knowledge of mass storage devices (NetApp preferred)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
