
Community Development Officer

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of community members. We are seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to join our team.
The role involves leading planning, delivery, and evaluation of key community events and programming, as well as developing innovative projects and programs to build social and community capacity.
- Lead annual planning, delivery, and evaluation of key community events including National Apology Day, National Sorry Day, National Reconciliation Week, and NAIDOC Week;
- Develop and deliver innovative social and community capacity building projects and programs aligned with the Community Strategic Plan and relevant plans;
- Support coordination and community engagement around the development, monitoring, and implementation of Council's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group;
- Maintain and develop culturally inclusive communication tools for effective information sharing with community members and agencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and develop targeted initiatives;
- Design and implement promotional strategies to enhance community engagement;
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to inform future decision-making;
- Build relationships with community members and organizations to foster partnerships and collaborations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Communications, or related discipline;
- Substantial experience in relationship management, community development, and project implementation;
- Current Class C Driver's Licence.
