The role of a Special Needs Education Assistant is to provide support and guidance to students with diverse needs in an educational setting.

  • Key responsibilities include assisting teachers in the development and implementation of individualised learning programs, supporting students with special education and therapy programs, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to achieve common goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents is also highly valued, as is the ability to assist with general health and wellbeing of students.
