Senior Veterinary Medical Oncology Specialist

Greencross Vets at Sinnamon Park in Brisbane's west is a specialist and emergency hospital that has grown steadily since its inception. Our purpose-designed, state-of-the-art hospital offers services in medical and surgical oncology, small animal surgery, internal medicine, and neurology as well as an after-hours emergency service.
Our facilities include a dedicated chemotherapy suite, in-house diagnostic laboratory, CT and MRI scanners, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and access to stereotactic radiation therapy.
About the Internship
The internship under our 2 medical oncologists and a surgical specialist will provide you with hands-on experience in daily rounds and weekly journal club or case presentations. You will be encouraged to complete a published work during your internship and work towards completion of an ANZCVS membership examination if eligible.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in QLD, hold a current radiation licence, and have excellent communication skills and work ethic as well as a strong knowledge base on which to build. Clinical experience is desirable but not essential.
What We Can Offer
This internship offers a chance to work and learn in a busy and friendly referral hospital. There may also be opportunities to work at any of our other sites during the internship. Previous interns have continued on to residency positions worldwide.
We offer 4 weeks of annual leave and 1 week of study leave with a CE allowance. The internship commences in January 2025 and is for 12 months with an option to extend to 18 months. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter stating the reasons for seeking the internship, and the name and contact details of three referees with at least one from an academic and one from a practice/clinical background.
