Product Role

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission drives a fair, strong and efficient financial system for Australians. We are seeking an individual who can contribute to our purpose, vision and strategic priorities, and help maintain integrity and protect consumers.

The transfer of business registers from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) back to ASIC will provide reliable, secure, trusted, and efficient registry services to support the economy.

Responsibilities
  • We need someone who can collaborate with the Product Management Team to establish a Product Backlog, capturing and documenting business and functional requirements for Platform applications.
  • This role requires partnering with the Delivery Team to refine requirements and develop solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Engage with Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and Product Leads to understand our business processes and operational requirements.
  • Work with Delivery Teams to define acceptance criteria for solutions developed on the One ASIC Platform.
  • Support Product Managers in coordinating business testing (UAT and PVT), including preparation, execution, and assisting business representatives during testing.
More Specifically
  • The Product Owner represents the business and acts as an escalation point for business teams while driving uplift and modernisation of ASIC's registers, user channels, and interfaces. Lead Business Analysts in developing high-quality, documented business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts and business teams to ensure the delivered product meets business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management Team to establish and manage a product backlog for platform applications.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant bachelor's degree and/or proven experience in gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex business needs, resolve issues, and document effective solutions is essential.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders is required.
  • Proven ability to engage with business stakeholders to elicit requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement is needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Previous experience in a Business Analyst or Product Owner role is advantageous.
