About the Role

This pivotal position offers the opportunity to lead the timely delivery of key programs, ensuring optimal performance at our Tullamarine Depot.

  • Becoming part of the Leadership Team and acting as Senior Leader to 8 direct reports and a diverse field workforce of over 100 employees.
  • Delivering the highest possible safety standards by conducting leadership walks, reviewing and improving works practices, and ensuring field staff have appropriate fleet, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintaining a consistent presence at the Tullamarine depot to ensure visible leadership and issue escalation for the wider team.
  • Managing personnel according to policies, ensuring only personnel with appropriate skills and qualifications are employed or assigned to carry out required tasks.
  • Optimising performance of the Overhead and Underground Distribution teams by identifying efficiencies in scheduling, resource allocation, and business processes.
  • Taking accountability for the financial performance of the program delivered by the field workforce, working closely with peers in the Leadership Team.
  • Maintaining positive Industrial Relations interactions and leading union-related issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safety culture and implement improved safety processes, systems & programs.
  • Understand Victorian Electrical Distribution Networks and VESI requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage cost centres within approved budget guidelines.
  • Utilise resources and match capability and capacity of the workforce and physical resources for work delivery.
  • Plan and strategy.
  • Manage field teams.

About You:

  • Proven ability to drive a safety culture and implement improved safety processes, systems & programs.
  • Understanding of Victorian Electrical Distribution Networks and VESI requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Effective cost centre management within approved budget guidelines.
  • Demonstrated competency in utilisation of resources and matching capability and capacity of the workforce and physical resources for work delivery.
  • Experience in planning and strategy.
  • Proven experience managing field teams.
