At our hospital, we provide a supportive environment for individuals to achieve their rehabilitation goals. The Allied Health Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other Allied Health professionals.
- Independence and teamwork: AHAs work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing workload and managing time efficiently.
- Prioritization and time management: AHAs prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and complete them promptly, utilizing effective communication skills with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Effective communication: AHAs possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ensuring seamless interactions within the team.
- Computer literacy: AHAs are proficient in Microsoft Office and email applications, streamlining administrative processes.
- Driving requirement: A current NSW driver's license is essential for driving during work hours.
- Certification and knowledge: Occupational therapy or physiotherapy qualification without APHRA registration, or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, are required. In-depth knowledge of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy roles is also necessary.
- Experience and understanding: AHAs have experience working with or providing care to individuals in a healthcare setting and possess a basic understanding of exercise classes.
