Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and driven Managing Partner to spearhead our Accounting and Tax division. The successful candidate will oversee client engagements, mentor both onshore and offshore teams, and play a pivotal role in the firm's growth and success. This position demands extensive expertise in accounting and taxation, exceptional leadership capabilities, a robust business development mindset, and innovative thinking to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring top-tier service quality, with a target of 90%+ for timely ATO lodgements.
  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Guide and develop junior onshore and offshore staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Lead business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new opportunities leveraging existing targets within the Ziku financial advice and lending sectors.
  • In the initial year, manage the planning and execution of an efficiency program aimed at aligning the business with industry standards on debtor collection, enhancing subscription revenue, and transitioning the majority of individual tax returns to the Ziku Global offshore team.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Collaborate actively with shareholders and senior leaders in the Ziku Advice and Lending sectors to formulate and implement strategic initiatives for the overall growth of Ziku Capital.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability of the Ziku Accounting division against established KPIs.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, bolstering the firm's reputation and visibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public or private practice accounting, focusing on personal and small to medium business taxation, including sole traders, companies, and trusts.
  • Demonstrated success in client management and business development with small to medium-sized clients across diverse industries.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing junior and senior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to transparent communication with the shareholder group.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Manager/Accountant in a mid-tier or Big Four accounting firm is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and technology, particularly Xero and Xero Practice Manager.
