Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee the commercial aspects of high-profile infrastructure projects across Sydney.

About the Role

This is a key position responsible for leading the commercial function, encompassing upstream and downstream contract management, subcontractor engagement, procurement processes, and payment claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective supply chain management, contract compliance, and financial oversight while driving commercial outcomes, risk management, and strategic decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire procurement process from tendering through to contract award.
  • Oversee all contracts, including negotiation, administration, claims, and variations.
  • Lead subcontract engagement and manage complex packages of work.
  • Administer payment claims and ensure timely processing and compliance.
  • Manage insurance and liability claims related to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on forecasting, cost-to-complete reports, and commercial performance tracking.
  • Provide leadership to Senior Contract Administrators and the wider commercial team.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A proven track record in commercial management within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • A strong background in procurement, subcontract administration, and contract management (upstream and downstream).
  • Expertise in payment claims, claims resolution, and supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of contract administrators.
  • Knowledge of Australian contract law, construction legislation, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong financial literacy and ability to work closely with finance teams on forecasting and project costs.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications

The successful candidate should hold:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years' commercial management experience in the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Proficiency in project management, contract management, and Microsoft Office software.
