Transmission Line Worker Overview

">

This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing overhead transmission lines using approved standards under the direction of the Foreperson, General Foreperson, Project Manager, and Supervisor. The Transmission Line Worker will be required to travel frequently and work at varying heights above ground.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Assist in the installation, connection, and rigging of high-voltage equipment">
  • Erect, frame, and replace poles">
  • Operate aerial trucks, digger derricks, and associated equipment safely and efficiently">
  • Assist in the construction of transmission and substation facilities">
  • Work on various structure types of transmission lines at voltages from 69 kV to 500kV">

Requirements:

">

Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license. Ability to climb wood poles, steel poles, and lattice steel towers without assistance is required. Must also be able to work at heights up to and above 100 feet.

Physical Demands:

">

The Transmission Line Worker must be physically capable of performing job duties throughout an 8-10 hour day, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting. Must also be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments.
