About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Adelaide and contribute to the development of innovative satellite IoT products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for IoT modules, silicon, and devices with a focus on satellite IoT connectivity.
- Implement and optimize IoT communication protocols with a focus on reliability and low power consumption.
- Integrate IoT firmware with IoT hardware components, including microcontrollers, communication modules, and external communications networks.
- Firmware updates: knowledge of over-the-air firmware update systems.
- Testing and validation: create and conduct verification and validation tests to ensure reliability, performance, and security of IoT systems.
- Documentation: create and maintain documentation, including specifications, APIs, and user guides.
- Security: implement security specifications to protect IoT devices and IoT data using encryption, authentication, and OS hardening.
- Collaboration: work closely with cross-functional teams, including cloud network engineers, hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers, to define requirements, engage in peer reviews, and ensure project delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with microcontroller-based embedded systems is essential.
- Willingness to embrace new technology.
- Previous exposure and engagement in the full product lifecycle.
- Keen to work in a fast-paced start-up ecosystem.
- Experience in IoT or wireless communication development, security practices is desirable but not essential.
