Position Summary:
In light of a strategic growth initiative and ongoing business achievements, there is a requirement for a new Production Manager. The primary function of this role is to provide daily leadership to the operational sector of the organization, aligning with the strategic goals that encompass safety, customer satisfaction, personnel management, and overall business performance.

This position will entail the coordination of production and logistics operations to guarantee that customer demands are consistently met while ensuring the organization is equipped to safely accommodate future growth. Continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and effectiveness is also a key focus.

Hands-on involvement in production and logistics will be a regular aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to safe and reliable operations, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders to clients.
  • Identify opportunities for optimizing operational performance, achieving production throughput, and meeting quality targets.
  • Adhere to third-party compliance requirements, including those from councils, industry, and government entities, particularly regarding environmental standards.
  • Assist in formulating budgets, operational plans, objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Evaluate improvement opportunities and contribute to the preparation of capital projects.
  • Utilize and enhance production and inventory planning and tracking systems.
  • Manage inventory levels effectively, planning for future needs while minimizing excess stock and ensuring availability.
  • Develop and review operational policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Lead coordination across all operational areas to enhance efficiency and foster strong interdepartmental relationships.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as a hands-on Production Manager or in a similar capacity is essential. A background in mining or quarry operations is required.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills are crucial, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse operational team. A strong technical background, ideally with a mechanical trade qualification or degree, is preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance principles, practices, and equipment reliability is highly regarded. Experience in environments involving trucks and heavy machinery, such as excavators and industrial manufacturing equipment, is beneficial.

Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with maintenance management processes and software, is necessary. This privately owned business values a practical, can-do approach.
