We offer solution-oriented legal advice to all business partners worldwide. We provide comprehensive support in contracts, negotiations, and processes with customers and suppliers, as well as in general litigation and commercial law matters. In a matrix organization, Legal Services is organized according to regions and global cross-sectional topics.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Manager to join our APAC region team in Sydney, Australia. As part of DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of Legal colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating complex contracts or advising the businesses served within a region/sub-region/country or cluster of countries on relevant legal matters.
  • • Define and recommend legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DHL Group's legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal frameworks, standards, applicable laws, and regulations.

  • • Provide strategic support to the business and Management to assure alignment between legal and business needs.

  • • Supports senior lawyers within Oceania, including working directly with the VP, Head of Legal, and Legal Director to provide the legal function.

  • • Works with senior colleagues to establish best-in-class legal processes and procedures to assure business objectives are met and major legal opportunities and risks are identified, exploited, or mitigated.

Your Key Responsibilities
You will advise members of business on legal and related risks associated with DHL's operations in the area of responsibility, including advising and counseling functional or operational area managers, VPs, and Executives (GMs, and CFOs) to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also review legal analyses and technical reports to recommend senior management on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in laws and regulations.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will require a Law Degree or equivalent experience/qualification. You will need more than 6.5 years PQE and a solid understanding of DHL's operations, goals, and strategies in the area of responsibility. A subject matter expert with the ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise in a business environment is essential. Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
