Software Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a mid-level engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing web systems using Python-based frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop web systems primarily with Python-based frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, delivery, and engineers.
  • Support established software systems and contribute to new product development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a mid-level software engineer ideally within an early-stage product environment.
  • Experience with Python and a web framework such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL) and basic SQL querying.
  • Ability to perform a diverse range of tasks from supporting existing systems to building new products.
  • Understanding that software should respond to customer and market needs.
  • Experience with basic software development tools and agile tooling (Git, Jira).
  • Understanding of web application hardware/software components especially those deployed on cloud platforms.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
