This role contributes to promoting equitable outcomes and dismantling systemic barriers in the local community. The Justice Support Worker provides culturally responsive support, advocacy, and practical assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members at risk of, or currently engaged with, the justice system.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide culturally responsive support and advocacy to community members.
  • Foster independence and self-determination among community members.
  • Promote long-term strategies addressing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal people in the justice system.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar capacity and possess excellent communication skills. Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
