**Job Overview**

As an Assistant Thrift Shop Manager, you will play a vital role in assisting the store manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with workplace regulations for volunteers.
  • Implement stock rotation and management processes to optimize store stock levels.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to customer needs, training staff in best practice customer service, and actively seeking opportunities to connect customers to our mission.
  • Assist the store manager in recruiting, maintaining, and directing a strong volunteer/employee force that runs the store efficiently.
  • Coordinate community or corporate volunteer resource programs.
  • Supervise volunteers, providing guidance, direction, and feedback.
  • Assist in managing social media for the store.
  • Assist the store manager with financial processes including budgets, cash reconciliation, and banking.

Requirements:

  • Relevant retail industry experience.
  • Experience in retail management is desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills in cash handling, financial management, and team leadership.
  • Intermediate-Advanced computer skills.
  • Prior experience in a charitable recycling retail operation is desirable.
  • Physical ability to safely perform duties.
