About the Role


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team based in Townsville on a full-time permanent basis.


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately accounted for and presented in a clear and concise manner.



Key Responsibilities



  • Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, plant, and equipment costs;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project scope and requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with the project management team to ensure that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget;
  • Analyse and review tenders from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements;
  • Participate in regular project meetings to discuss progress, identify issues, and implement solutions;


Requirements and Qualifications


To be considered for this role, you will require:



  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., construction management, quantity surveying, engineering);
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with estimating software.
