Commercial Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commercial Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a premier 5-star hotel in the Melbourne CBD. In this fast-paced hands-on role, you will be encouraged to take pride in your work and be committed to delivering exceptional hospitality services based on award-winning standards.

  • Be an integral part of the operations of busy commercial kitchens.
  • Operate commercial dishwashers and other commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and benches ensuring all rubbish is removed and equipment is correctly stored.
  • Prepare equipment required for functions (chafing dishes, plates etc).
  • Assist the chefs with general kitchen duties.

Key Requirements:

  • Flexible and available to work across a rotating 7-day roster, including days, afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts.
  • Proven experience in fast-paced commercial kitchen environments.
  • Good understanding of safety elements associated with this job.
  • Good understanding of cleaning chemicals and their correct and safe handling.
