About the Position:
The Department of Economics at Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in applied microeconomics. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active research program, support teaching and mentoring of a diverse student body, and contribute to the department's commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research in applied microeconomics, with a focus on education, household/consumer finance, innovation, labor, public, or urban economics.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including introductory courses and advanced seminars.
- Mentor students in research projects and provide guidance on academic and professional development.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.
Requirements:
- PhD in Economics or a related field before employment begins.
- Research, teaching, and service record commensurate with rank.
- Demonstrated attentiveness to building a diverse intellectual community, in line with Ohio State's shared values.
Application Instructions:
A competitive application consists of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a job-market paper, and three letters of reference. Separate research and teaching statements are optional but desired. Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2024.
