Child Protection Specialist Role

This is a key role in improving the emotional, social and mental wellbeing of children, young people, parents/carers and their families.

As a Child Protection Specialist, you will work closely with clients who have experienced child protection issues. You will provide specialist counselling and interventions to support them in overcoming trauma and adversity.

  • Conduct assessments, case planning and referrals functions.
  • Engage with difficult and involuntary clients.
  • Manage a challenging and demanding workload.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in providing counselling, groupwork, parenting and case management interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child protection issues and relevant legislation.
  • High level of communication skills and computer skills.
