Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety strategies and plans to mitigate risks and prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide expert safety advice and guidance to operational leaders and employees to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety management systems and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and regulatory bodies, to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor and report on safety metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing safety regulations and standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a large organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety strategies and plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
