**About the Role**

As a key member of the Central Coast Council team, we are seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with business units to support work health and safety projects and investigations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide coaching and support to drive outcomes that result in a safe work environment and build a safety-first culture.
  • Build effective partnerships through strong customer engagement with both management and staff.
  • Understand and apply legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and policy to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement work health and safety management compliance frameworks, including policies, system processes, auditing, and monitoring of programs.
  • Coach, train, and develop the capability of staff and managers in workplace safety and driving a safety culture.
  • Project manage the implementation of work health and safety initiatives, including planning and managing change to deliver improvement of performance outcomes.
  • Analyse and interpret complex and sensitive information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to achieve quality outcomes.

**Requirements**

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field or significant contemporary experience in a similar role.
  • NSW Construction Induction Card and a current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Significant experience in work health and safety management in a large, diverse service industry organisation.
  • Significant experience in the application of current work health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing work health and safety management compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade, and negotiate outcomes that add value to the organisation.
  • Proven ability to assess and interpret information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to achieve quality outcomes.
