Job Title: Sexual Assault Support Counsellor

Work with us to provide trauma-informed clinical practice.

Laurel House is seeking a skilled and committed counselling professional to become a valued member of our Therapeutic Services team in Launceston, Tasmania. This fixed-term part-time position is available until December 2026, working a minimum 0.6FTE or negotiable to full-time. We offer a challenging and rewarding role, working alongside victim-survivors of sexual assault and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high standard trauma-informed clinical practice working with victim-survivors of sexual assault.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for young people and adult learners.
  • Collaborate with diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTIQA+, migrant, culturally and linguistically diverse, and people with disability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or equivalent qualification, occupational therapy with mental health accreditation, and relevant experience in trauma-informed counselling. Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault is also essential.
