Sexual Assault Support Counsellor
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and committed counselling professional to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania.
The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical, support and advocacy services to victim-survivors of sexual assault and their non-offending family members and support system.
This is a fixed-term, part-time position available from November 2024 to November 2026.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialist clinical, support and advocacy services to victim-survivors of sexual assault.
- Work with and counsel adult, young people and/or children who have been impacted by sexual assault and violence.
- Participate in outreach services and educational program delivery.
- Develop and deliver group based and peer support programs for victim-survivors.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault and experience in trauma-informed counselling.
- Experience working in crisis intervention and management.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and proven capacity to meet the diverse needs of clients.
