We are seeking a Data Engineer to take a strategic role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms that drive advanced analytics and business intelligence.

Your expertise will be crucial in shaping our cloud-based data architecture and driving innovation across our data ecosystem, while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic design, expansion, and optimisation of a secure, scalable, and high-performing data platform
  • Implement cloud security best practices within Azure, ensuring data protection through access controls, encryption, and compliance
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and dbt for efficient data processing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
  • Buid and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data workflows
  • Evaluate data quality through validation, monitoring, and performance checks across pipelines
  • Document data architectures, workflows, security protocols, and operational procedures thoroughly
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration between internal and external systems

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and dbt
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and security principles, particularly within Azure
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation for data workflows
  • Ability to implement robust data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes to ensure reliable and performant data delivery
  • Effective collaboration with analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including hands-on work in data engineering and full-stack software development with a strong focus on data-intensive systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience building robust, scalable data pipelines and performing complex data transformations
  • Proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation in cloud environments
  • Experience working with modern data stack tools including Snowflake, dbt, and Azure
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
