Job Description

  • Preparation and review of pension scheme reports and accounts.
  • Manage scheme cashflow reports, delegating and reviewing work of junior colleagues.
  • Prepare for year-end audits, liaising with auditors to ensure smooth completion and timely filing.
  • Produce and review monthly P&L reports and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Support the production and presentation of financial information for the executive committee and Partners, highlighting concerns and key issues.
  • Assist in financial audits and recommend improvements to processes and controls.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, supporting daily accounting operations as well as preparing and reviewing management information.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise Junior Colleagues
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the finance team, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and review P&L reports and other financial documents.
  • Review and prepare VAT returns.
Year-End Audits
  • Prepare for year-end audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and filed in a timely manner.
Communication Skills
  • Develop strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels.

The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent, with a strong grounding in financial accounting. You will bring a proactive, organised, and detail-focused approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
